Version 1.0 of gNewSense went online today. Developers, documenters, and reviewers are sought. gNewSense is a GNU+Linux distribution with a focus on freedom. Not only does it contain no non-free software packages, the developers have even scraped the binary blobs out of the kernel. This has cause some hardware to be unsupported, or not completely supported, so help is needed to make that a temporary problem. Work will also have to be done to talk with hardware distributors to tell them binary blobs are no acceptable.
The bulk of the work has been done by Brian Brazil and Paul O'Malley - well known faces at the IFSO monthly meetings. IFSO sends its congratulations.
